Silver and Bronze Awards PX3 Annual Report Category. John has won a Silver Award for his work documenting microlending in the South Pacific and a Bronze Award for documenting the fight against Hepatitis-C in the Republic of Georgia.
First Place in International Photo Awards in category of Health Care Heroes. Plus two Honorable Mentions.
Shorty Award goes to the Healthcare Heroes Microsite in the category of Health and Medical. The site honors the efforts of the frontline professionals who risked their lives to save others. The site garnered nearly 2 million impressions.
International Photo Awards brings two Honorable Mentions. IPA has awarded 2 Honorable Mentions to imagery from the Covid-19 fight in India and images documenting efforts to bring clean water to rural India.

Silver Award PX3 Annual Report Category. France's Px3 has announced the winners of their 2020 Photo Contest and John has won a Silver Award for his work documenting the Public Hospitals heroic response to the Covid-19 pandemic in NYC.
First Place Winner Best of ASMP. Series of photographs from the Rohingya Refugee Camps near Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh Produced on assignment for UNOPS.
3 Honorable Mentions International Color Awards. Awards in categories of Portrait, Photojournalism, and Children of the World for photographs from Nepal earthquake relief, from South Sudan refugee relief, and from Argentina social housing project.

Winner, Gold and Silver Awards, France’s PX3 Photo Contest. Gold was won for images from the Turkana Region of Kenya while on assignment for UNOPS to document maternal care programs. Silver was won for images captured on assignment for Environmental Defense to document efforts to promote sustainable fisheries in the Pacific Ocean. Additional PX3 Curator Selection Awards for Kenya Maternal Health Project (UNOPS) and Mobile TB Clinic in Yangon, Myanmar (UNOPS).
2017
First Place Winner, Social Documentary Network’s World Communities Contest. The winning collection of images captured a 15-year collaboration with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria, featuring people living with HIV/AIDS. The photographs were featured in the Fall 2017 issue of Zeke Magazine.
Winner, Silver Award, France’s PX3 Photo Contest. The Silver Medal winning series of images were produced while on assignment for ACCION International to promote financial inclusion in India.
Second Place Winner, Portrait Section, International Color Awards. The winning photographs were captured on location in Nigeria for ACCION International.

Winner, Institutional Category, Communication Arts. Winning image was a portrait of TB Patient and Her 6 Month Old Child for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria.
Winner of International Color Awards. John Rae has won third place in the Social Cause Section. The winning photographs were produced on location as part of an ongoing project for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria in Zambia, Laos, The Gambia, Paraguay, and Myanmar.
Winner of two Gold and one Bronze awards in France’s PX3 photo contest. The PX3 contest is one of the largest and most prestigious contests in Europe with tens of thousands entries from 85 countries. The first Gold Medal winning series of photographs were produced in Zimbabwe on assignment for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria. The second Gold Medal photos were also produced on assignment for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria in Cambodia documenting their fight against malaria transmission. The Bronze Medal went to a series of photographs produced on assignment for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria in Honduras that features a series of photographs depicting the org’s efforts to fight the spread of TB in prisons.
Winner in AP 30 Photo Contest. American Photographer has announced the winners of the AP 30 Photo Contest . AP is one of the most prestigious Photo Contests in the US. The winning photograph was chosen from thousands of entries from over 80 countries. The photo was shot on assignment for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria in Cape Town’s infamous Pollsmoor Prison.

Winner of Six Awards in Annual Report and Portrait Categories for PX3 including one Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze Awards. Images captured on assignment in Guatemala for ACCION International and at the Pollsmoor Prision in Zambia for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria.
Honorable Mention ASMP Photography Contest. John Rae has won an Honorable Mention for his photograph of Raphael, a member of an AIDS orphaned family in Zambia. The Image14 Contest Winners Exhibition will be held at the prestigious Chelsea 27 Gallery with an opening on October 23, 2014 at 6pm.

Winner Communication Arts 51st Annual photo contest in the Annual Report category. CA photo contest attracts tens of thousands of entries from around the world and is one of the oldest and most prestigious contests in America. The winning photograph is of HIV outreach backstage at KTV bar/ brothel and was shot on assignment for Population Services International in Mengzi, China.
Winner The International Photo Awards second place in the Professional Annual Report Section. The winning photographs were produced on location in the last 12 months for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria in The Philippines, Tajikistan, Cuba, and Malawi.
Winner The International Color Awards in the People Section and a nominee in the People and Photojournalism Sections. The winning photograph was chosen from thousands of entries from over 90 countries. The photo was shot on assignment with Will Smith in Zanzibar for the NGO Malaria No More.
Winner Photo District News flagship photo contest in the Corporate Design Category. The winning photographs are from a series created for ACCION, a Boston based microlending NGO, which supports the distribution of loans for small businesses in Tanzania, Africa.

The annual report category was taken by photographs produced in Cuba, Tajikistan, Georgia, and The Gambia for the Global Fund.
